Easter

Brynn had a wonderful Easter despite having a fever and a runny nose.  She spent the morning rolling around on the floor playing with her Easter eggs filled with her favorite puffs that the Easter Bunny left behind.  We later went to the park to swing and play with her pin-wheel.  Oh to be a kid again.

Easter dinner was very exciting for Brynn she got to try new foods.  She was very intrigued by the new flavors and textures.  I think she finished off all of the mashed potatoes, turkey, and jello (cherry with fresh bananas like my grandpa used to make) that was on my plate.  And of course, Brynn now prefers table food and wants to feed herself.

What's in here?

Help, I can't get the puffs out

Getting Ready for Hop Hop

Brynn practiced her Easter Bunny hop all last week in anticipation of his arrival.

When is the Easter Bunny coming?

Maybe he is hiding over here.

Signs of Summer

The weather this past weekend was absolutely gorgeous.  We are just hoping that the 85 degree weather on Saturday was not just a tease but a sign that summer is quickly approaching.

Our little fish spent hours in the pool this weekend and while not in the pool was under her umbrella in her bounce bounce laughing and squealing trying to jump higher and higher.  Nothing makes her happier than being outdoors.

Look What I Got...

Brynn started last week off by getting her first tooth.  Or should I say first teeth.  She got two in two days.  It had been a long time coming.  She has had little white spots on her gums for awhile, in addition to all of the drooling and gnawing on everything.  Maybe that is why she has been so tired lately?  It must be hard work pushing those teeth through.  Brynn is so proud of her teeth and loves to show them off.

What are these things?

Later in the week she had what I think was supposed to be her eight month check-up at the doctor’s office (somehow we got off schedule).  At a little over seven months old, Brynn now weighs 19lbs 8oz (95%) and is 28 ½ inches (95%) long.  Her weight finally caught up with her height.  I think it is from all of the baby food she loves to eat.  She is growing so quickly and once again I am having trouble finding clothes that are long enough for her.

Unfortunately, we also found out from the doctor that Brynn has a mild ear infection and needed to be put on antibiotics.  What terrible parents we are.  We had no idea that she was even sick. She had been a little fussy on Monday night but we thought she was just teething and tired from getting a tooth.  She had been her usual happy, cheerful self playing with her toys and talking to her zebra every night last week.  Good thing we had a doctor's appointment scheduled and were able to catch the infection early.

Evenings Together

We have been enjoying our evenings together as a family.  With the weather being beautiful, the days longer, and Cameron getting home from work earlier we have been able to spend some extra special time together on the week days.  Instead of our usual tag team approach of picking up the house and playing with Brynn, our new schedule has included a swim in the pool, followed by a walk downtown or along the beach, and getting home just as Brynn is falling asleep in her stroller.  We all enjoy this time together.  Brynn loves to be outside and watch all of the people, smiling as strangers wave to her.  Cameron is happy because he gets to spend time at the pool and I am just overjoyed to be able to capture a few extra minutes a day with my two favorite people, watching them try and make each other laugh.

Loving the pool

Here are some pictures from our outing on Opening Day of the baseball season.  Brynn was supporting her favorite baseball team.  She cheered them on from her stroller to a 4-2 victory versus the Kansas City Royals.
