Blueberry Pancakes

I like to eat, I like to eat, I like to eat eat Apples and Bananas!!  Despite being one of Brynn's favorite songs, she really would rather be singing a song about and eating "Blueberry Pancakes".  Brynn and I have a Saturday ritual that entails us making blueberry pancakes and going to class.  This ritual starts with Brynn in her chair picking out the blueberries we are going to use in the pancakes and ends with only a few blueberries in the pancakes and most of them in her belly before the pancakes are finished.  Afterwards we are off to class to burn off some energy and start our weekend off with fun and games.

Messy face!

Yummy, in my tummy!

Easter Weekend 2012

We had a wonderful Easter weekend.  The sun was shining, no clouds in sight and Easter eggs everywhere.  After the second attempt at making hard boiled eggs, we were successful and only had one crack so our festivities began.  We started with dying eggs - an event that I thought would hold Brynn’s attention for maybe 2 minutes.  Boy was I wrong.  She loved it and wanted to do it all herself.  She loved to see all of the bright colors, use the stickers, and even color on them using a crayon.  She inspected each egg thoroughly to make sure the coloring was done properly.

Day 2 of our festivities was spent at the local sports complex where the Kiwanis Club hosted a family fun day.  Events included face painting, balloon animals, the Easter Bunny, and an Easter hunt.  I learned very quickly what the difference between an Easter hunt and an Easter EGG hunt is.  An Easter hunt is where they just put candy out for the kids to pick up, with no eggs in sight.  I will have to keep that in mind for next year.  Either way Brynn had a great time filling her basket with whatever was lying on the ground and of course I ended up eating the candy.  Next we were off to the Easter Bunny, where Brynn got distracted by the nearby park.  Little did she know of all of the cool games and petting zoo she was missing out on.  She saw a slide and bolted.

After playing at the park we made our way back to the Easter Bunny, where now the line is wrapped around the side of the tent and the wait is 30 minutes in the sun.  Brynn was not scared but she was a little cautious around him.
Fake smile!

Easter Day was by far the most enjoyable.  We went to a lovely brunch, did an Easter egg hunt, and played outside.  Once Brynn woke up from her afternoon nap the hunt was on.  It took a little while for her to realize what to do, but once she caught on each egg she found was better than the last.  It was fun to watch her run around getting more and more excited as she found eggs.  The grand finale was her Easter Basket.  She loved all of the toys and of course the cheapest item (the bubbles) was her favorite.  These smiles say it all.
Off to brunch.  Would anyone like to join me?

Running to the next egg!

Easter excitement!

I love this age!
