4th of July

We had an amazing 4th of July.  The weather was beautiful, the flags were blowing in the breeze, Huntington Beach was celebrating, and we got to share the weekend with friends and family.  Brynn got to encounter the craziness of Huntington Beach on the 4th of July for the first time.  The festivities started on Sunday morning when we had to wake up early to chalk off our spot along the parade route so we would have a place to sit and not have to fight the crowds (Huntington Beach hosts the largest parade west of the Mississippi every 4th of July).  Unfortunately, the parade started during Brynn’s nap time.  She tried - but could not keep her eyes open for the entire parade.
God Bless America!

Next we kept the festivities going and enjoyed the beautiful weather at the pool.  We all swam and played bean bags till our heart were content.   Brynn has turned into a little water baby.  She loves to splash around and relax in her floatie.  She especially loves watching and laughing at all of the other kids in the pool.
Auntie Heidi and Uncle Eric came to visit!

I love the water!

We ended the day on the beach watching the fireworks display.  Once again the fireworks were past Brynn’s bedtime so she was only awake for a short while.  However, she watched in amazement at the few fireworks she did see and was not afraid of the large BOOMS she heard.

BOOM! BOOM!

All in all it was a great weekend with beautiful weather and great family and friends.  Huntington Beach is full of tradition on the 4th of July and the spirit of the city really shines through, which is always exciting for everyone involved in the festivities.
Happy 4th of July!

Sioux Falls

Brynn and I took a vacation just the two of us back to Sioux Falls for a few days last week.  The time, once again, went by too quickly.  We just need to realize that no matter how many days we are there it is never going to be enough time.
All of my cousins

While in Sioux Falls we spent lots of time with all of the grandparents and even got together with some friends from high school.  I could not believe how many there are of us now.  Between the husbands and kids we can barely fit in one house.

Below are some photos from our trip home.  We can’t wait until we get to see everyone again in September.  See you soon!!

I got three teeth.  The popsicle helped soothe my gums.

I got to meet Great Grandma Weber

10 Months Old

Little miss independent is now a little snuggler.  Before she was too busy being Curious George and wondering what everyone else was up to, to snuggle.  I love that she now wants to give hugs, nestle in your lap or on your shoulder, and give kisses.  She is also becoming a little attached to her blankets and loves to hug them tight when she is getting tired.

Part of her want to snuggle is the need for comfort due to the number of teeth she is getting.  Last weekend she got three teeth (on top) and yesterday the doctor told me her gums were swollen and that her molars were coming in.  Poor little girl - she is taking it like a champ.

At her 10 month appointment Brynn weighed 20 lbs 8 oz (60%) and was 30 inches long (97%).  Looks like it is time to get a new car seat.  So much for that thing lasting until she is 1 years old.

She loves:
·         Books
·         Playing patty-cake
·         Going for walks
·         Splashing in the pool

She is working on:
·         Pulling herself up
·         Standing
·         Getting more teeth
