4th of July

We had an amazing 4th of July.  The weather was beautiful, the flags were blowing in the breeze, Huntington Beach was celebrating, and we got to share the weekend with friends and family.  Brynn got to encounter the craziness of Huntington Beach on the 4th of July for the first time.  The festivities started on Sunday morning when we had to wake up early to chalk off our spot along the parade route so we would have a place to sit and not have to fight the crowds (Huntington Beach hosts the largest parade west of the Mississippi every 4th of July).  Unfortunately, the parade started during Brynn’s nap time.  She tried - but could not keep her eyes open for the entire parade.
God Bless America!

Next we kept the festivities going and enjoyed the beautiful weather at the pool.  We all swam and played bean bags till our heart were content.   Brynn has turned into a little water baby.  She loves to splash around and relax in her floatie.  She especially loves watching and laughing at all of the other kids in the pool.
Auntie Heidi and Uncle Eric came to visit!

I love the water!

We ended the day on the beach watching the fireworks display.  Once again the fireworks were past Brynn’s bedtime so she was only awake for a short while.  However, she watched in amazement at the few fireworks she did see and was not afraid of the large BOOMS she heard.

BOOM! BOOM!

All in all it was a great weekend with beautiful weather and great family and friends.  Huntington Beach is full of tradition on the 4th of July and the spirit of the city really shines through, which is always exciting for everyone involved in the festivities.
Happy 4th of July!
